Woman Dies After Worcester Shooting

WORCESTER, MA — A double-shooting Saturday in Worcester left one woman dead and another woman injured, according to police. Worcester police went to a home along Cambridge Street near 7 p.m. Saturday after a report of gunfire. They found a 41-year-old woman inside the home with three gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital, Worcester police said. A second woman in the home was also shot, but her wound was not serious, police said. Worcester police did not immediately announce any arrests after the fatal shooting. This was the second fatal shooting in a month in Worcester, and the city's fifth homicide so far in 2022. A 17-year-old shot along Millbury Street on June 29 died, and police have not announced any arrests in connection to that incident.
