Bassist Looking to Play Cool and/or Weird Music

I'm 24 years old and I've been playing bass since I was around 10, mostly self taught but with a few lessons here and there in the interest of fundamentals. I've been in a couple casual bands with friends, but I haven't done any real gigging and I would like to change that. I don't know much in terms of formal theory (though I am beginning to study on my own), but I consider myself a good bassist with a lot to offer in terms of technique, feel, and technical ability. I'm into progressive rock, jazz, fusion, metal, hard rock, traditional world music (especially Arabic music), experimental, industrial, electronic, and much more. Some favorite artists include King Crimson, Swans, Yes, Mr. Bungle, Rush, Secret Chiefs 3, Primus, John Berberian, Stanley Clarke, Aphex Twin, John Coltrane, and Tchaikovsky. I own a four string and a six string bass. Looking to see what's out there, whether it be casual jamming or serious gigging.
