Right: What are you against?
Left: Whaddaya got?
That seems to be the James Dean pattern anyway. We all can't necessarily agree on everything, and that's likely to never change but I think there are more common grounds to agree on or about than what we are letting on. Think of it this way: turning the steering wheel all the way to the Left or all the way to the Right leaves us going in a circle. Moving forward requires that steering wheel to remain near the center, with slight corrections along the way to keep us on the road. Grabbing that wheel and yanking it over as hard as possible would likely cause a crash...
While I don't expect to change anyone's mind about where they're trying to hold the wheel at, it just feels like it would be REAL progress if everyone wasn't just always "against" whatever's going on over there. Hard topics are always going to be hard, but being "against" the petty stuff just for the sake of being against the Other Side is ridiculous, non-productive, and destructive in my opinion. Thanks for the read, Peace
