I am located in Oldham county and these beauties will be ready to go the first week of September! I'm currently taking deposits to hold them till they are ready to leave, if your interested please contact me either by TEXT at 5 zero 2 four 3 eight 7 one 0 nine, or threw my Facebook page Blue Rose Exotics (more information is listed there)! ð¢ I do offer a warranty against WHS (wobbly hedgehog syndrome) and they will come with the following; âBirth certificate (I don't send pedigrees to pet homes, but the birth certificate can be put with paperwork or framed!) âtransfer baggy of food- this helps keep babies' tummy happy while they are adjusting to their new environment and switching foods âsnuggle bag- you can pick from my pre-made snuggle bags for your new family member! (custom ones can be made also or if you'd like extra ones, as they do get dirty, for an extra fee) âtoy- so I haven't quite decided on what toys to send home but I'm working on it! I think it's such a fun and cute idea! âoatmeal bath soak- these work wonders for babies who are going threw quilling to help soothe their skin! ð¢GENERAL HEDGEHOG INFORMATION!ð¢ âthey are NOCTURNAL animals so they are more active in the evenings and at night or early mornings which means they will make noise ALL NIGHT LONG usually. âhedgehogs are SOLITARY ANIMALS they dont like company or companions. your 30mins (at least) with them a day is enough. interaction between two or houseing together can lead to fighting which will cause serious injuries and even death! âthey eat HIGH GRADE cat food & BUGS as well as a verity of other things, please note, most commercial hedgehog foods are just fillers and not good for hedgies and cheap low grade cat food isnt good for cats or hedgies either. they need specific % and ingredients in their food! âthey need a 11" to 12" wheel AT LEAST, no smaller or it could hurt their backs hedgehogs love to run. they spend that MASS MAJORITY of their awake time running. California bucket wheels are the closest you are going to get to silent and even that isn't foolproof. âthey need a heating system! a ceramic heat emitter (they kind that does not let off any light) as they need to stay around 75-80 degrees or you risk them hibernating which will kill them. âthey do have quills which CAN and probably will at some point poke you. they also have teeth and though its rare they can bite just like any other animal with teeth. âthey need an enclosure the size of AT LEAST 105qrt bins, that is the MINIMUM size recommendation and the bins are perfectly fine to use! you can use wire cages like the ones you would use for a guinea pig or rabbit or even make your own C&C cage just MAKE SURE YOU MONITOR YOUR HEDGEHOG they can and will climb the wire if precautions and monitoring arnt done they can hang and kill themselves!! thats why most breeders recommend large clear bins. â they need ENRICHMENT! hedgehog safe toys, hides/houses, stuff like that for them to play with and have a safe space to sleep. âTHEY AT SOME PIONT WILL NEED A BATH AND NEED NAILS TRIMMED MONTHLY!! âTHEY CAN BE GREAT FAMILY PETS!! but you and your children need to be aware of how to properly handle a hedgehog some kids are amazing with hedgehogs while some they just arnt the right pet for. âalways look into whom your getting your hedgehog from!! ask questions, share concerns. ask if they have a website or Facebook page you can look into and then go take a look at it. only buy from breeders tracking pedigrees! pedigrees are VERY important in hedgehog breeding. also just because someone is USDA licensed does not always mean they are the best, dont get me wrong I know several amazing and licensed breeders! but I also know amazing hobby breeders also. its your job to look into whom your getting your baby from and make that call. and ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH on amy animal you want to add to your family!
