The Kansas City, MO office is seeking a qualified, organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and observant individual to serve as a Construction Observer. This opportunity is for an energetic field representative familiar with public infrastructure projects. The position is responsible for accurate monitoring and documenting of construction projects. The Construction Observer assures that the project has been constructed in accordance with project plans and specifications. A successful candidate will possess:Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Surveying experienceThe ability to interpret civil engineering plans and specifications with attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills to relay plan and specification requirements to contractors and to effectively communicate with members of the project teamWell-developed problem-solving skillsThe ability to collaborate with contractors, clients and coworkersProven organizational skillsThe ability to work well with a variety of character types and backgroundsBasic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel, Adobe or Bluebeam softwareThe ability to physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing stabilized excavations and trenches, structures and other disturbed areasThe ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of weightThe availability to work overtime including Saturdays as neededA dependable personal vehicle to access our project sitesValid driver’s license with minimum state required liability insurance and clean driving record We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
