Hi there! My name is Maya--I'm a UIC PhD Doctoral candidate in clinical psychology (with a focus on children). My fiance and I just moved to town for our PhDs! I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2018, and have since worked at Stanford's NICU, WestCoast Children's Clinic, and a children's Psychology clinic. As school is now my full time job, I want to pick up some babysitting roles so I can still play with children (and supplement my grad school income)! I have lots of experience working with children of all ages (teaching, daycare, therapy), and have worked with children with disabilities (physical and mental), children with diabetes, and foster children. I've been working with children for over 8 years in a variety of roles, from summer camp to the hospital. I'm gentle, warm, creative, and best of all, great with kids! I also have a small dog and have experience with dogs, cats, and fish. I'm also open to house sitting roles, as well as driving. A little bit more about me: if you can't find me outdoors with my fiance and dog, I'm probably practicing or performing with my neo-soul jazz band, or reading with a cup of tea (as pictured above)!
