Hi everyone, my name is Christian and I'm a professional drummer with over 25 years playing experience. I've set up a studio for teaching drum set in Big Bear and I'm currently taking on new in-person and online students! I'm a total drums and percussion teacher and I'm able to work with students of different ages, with different goals in mind. I'm able to coach students from young beginners and hobbyists to high school seniors hoping to audition for music schools or professionals looking to fill in the gaps in their education. Older students don't be shy! A majority of my students are adults who are picking up a new hobby or scratching that musical itch they were never able to when they were kids. Just got for it! I'll be sure to get you jamming with your buddies in no time. I'm unique as a teacher in that I have a customizable lesson program that touches on all the fundamentals of drumming - timing, feel, musicality, and dexterity- and we'll have options for learning the things you want at every new milestone. To give you an idea of the range of things we can cover: You can learn different genres of drum set grooves and fills (for example - rock, jazz, funk, hip-hop, Afro-Cuban) or focus on the music for your child's school music program. I can teach rudimental drumming for those of you interested in Drum Corps or Marching Band. Or we can focus on drum set techniques and concepts like independence, linear playing, and chops! I'll even help you learn cover songs for your Tik Tok. You'll learn to read and write your own music no matter where your studies take you. About me: I'm the current drummer for the 80's bands Bow Wow Wow (I Want Candy). I'm also the author of Paradiddlemania!, a drum method book published on Hudson Music Digital. I have a Bachelor of Music degree, with a classical percussion concentration.
