Desert Sky Surfaces is looking for a full-time Shop Hand. Desert Sky Surfaces is a local family run company that has been operating since 2007. We specialize in production and installation of granite and quartz countertops. Over the last few years we have expanded with the booming housing market and we have created tons of opportunity through our growth. Position: The Shop Hand is responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the shop. This position is tasked with helping with duties in the shop to ensure the shops runs smoothly and efficiently. The Shop Hand will help move material to ensure product is on schedule and being delivered in a timely manner. Responsibilities · Keeping the shop clean and tidy including: o Sweeping o Picking up and organizing cutoffs and scraps o Keeping the boneyard organized o Cleaning the grates and water filter system · Helping move slabs when needed · Assisting with unloading and organizing orders Shop Responsibilities · Must be able to take proper measurements and understand those measurements, read a tape measure, and perform simple math · Must be able to read and follow the paperwork, include order forms, job specifications, cut sheets, and edge details · Proper communication with management and the rest of shop to eliminate the mistakes · Drive the forklift to help move material · Must be able to lift over 100 lbs · Provide preventative maintenance on the machines and tools and communicate any issues with machines and tools to management · Always wear the proper attire for shop work, including steel toe boots · Ensure safety standards are being met, including wearing provided PPE · Work with the management to keep the shop clean and organized · Any other tasks required by management Qualifications · Must be able to lift over 100 pounds · Reliable transportation · Must listen to instructions, understand, and follow through · Dependability · Must be able to understand English · Must be legally authorized to work in The United States Job Type: Full-time Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
