We have an immediate opening at the farm for an honest, hard-working, fast learner who is sober, clean, courteous, kind, and sincere. The work here is varied but you must love animals and you will be learning to milk our small herd of dairy goats. The milking is mostly by machine, but there is some hand-milking. Must be able to lift a 50 lb. bag of feed. Here you will learn about the cheesemaking process, preparation of fruits and vegetables for our value-added products, and general farm work and maintenance. There are light janitorial duties for the hygiene of the commerical kitchen where we produce pesto, sauces, guacamole, salsa, and many gallons of fresh juices each week. You will be assigned one of our CSA delivery routes each week and possible participation at Saturday farmers' market. This is an hourly wage job and we provide medical insurance after a probationary period. Approximately 30 hours each week. Must provide three JOB References, not just friends or family!! Own transportation is a plus because the closest bus stop is about two miles away. The housing being offered is a small cottage with full kitchen and bathroom. No smoking, drugs, heavy drinking, drama. We love children, but the cottage is only suitable for a single individual.
