Mendes Ranch is seeking a ranch hand and horse trail guide. The ranch offers two trail rides for guest each day. The morning ride is at 9:00am and the afternoon ride is at 1:00pm. Bot rides are on our`` 35 acres ranch and last about 1.5 hours on average. We are seeking someone with horseback riding experience, and general knowledge of how to take care of horses. Each guide/ranch hand must arrive early in the morning for ranch chores and animal feeding. We have chickens, peacocks, goats, sheep, cows and horses on the ranch that all need to be fed. Employees clean and prepare the guest area, gather horses, halter horses, brush and bath horses, pick horses feet, saddle horses, and administer basic horse care to each animal as needed. We expect each employee to interface with customers with patience, kindness, politeness (aloha), and have a sincere concern for the guest’s safety and quality of their experience. Each guide must be able to have effective communication skills while giving all guest a thorough horse back riding orientation before each ride. Any handyman skills for ranch repairs and maintenance will be considered a major plus. Priority to Maui residents.
