The Schochet Companies is a full-service real estate development and management company seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of functions within the Property Maintenance Team. Glen Meadow Apartments is a market apartment community located in Franklin, MA. The maintenance technician must have electrical/plumbing/ HVAC/appliance repair skills. We are an expanding property management company that offers excellent career advancement and an exciting chance to be part of a diverse team! • Completion of all types of work orders from residents. • Completion of all resident apartment turn over tasks. • Complete the final cleaning of an apartment during the unit turn-over process. After property maintenance staff completes renovations on an apartment, you will go into the unit and prepares the unit for the new resident. • Picking up trash around exterior of property and removing trash from hallways and other parts of the building where items may have been left. • Clean and polish all common areas as schedule by supervisor. Duties may include: vacuuming carpets; shampooing carpets; sweeping and mopping floors; washing windows, walls and doors; cleaning laundry rooms and lint from dryers and cleaning of rental property’s office areas. • Snow removal as assigned by supervisor. • Delivery notices to each unit as requested by property management. • Assist maintenance and/or property management staff by providing outside vendors with access to apartment units. • Walk the property daily collecting trash and replacing burned out light bulbs as needed. • Must be able available to complete “On-call” duties. • Some administrative duties may be included such as opening, tracking and closing work orders. • Conducting property inspections and/or participating on an inspection team. • Attending monthly safety meetings. • Complete preventative maintenance activities. • On-going inspection of tools and equipment for safety. • Remaining current on all property and apartment shut-offs and sewer clean-outs. • Full knowledge of property’s emergency procedures. • Maintain all records required by company policies and procedures, OSHA and EPA. • Perform all required duties in a professional and confidential manner. Maintenance technician positions require that an individual be able to lift moderate weights of between 30-60 lbs. on a regular basis and the ability to stand and/or walk all day. In addition, occasional heavy lifting may be required. Duties of this position may require strength and endurance in performing heavy manual labor. Alternating on-call shifts required. Must live within 30mins of Franklin for on-call. Valid driver’s license and own transportation required. Previous maintenance experience required, team player and strong customer service skills.
