Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform standard cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of needed repairs throughout facility, sweep and remove debris from building front entrance. Ensure no hazards block front entrance and entrance is presentable to visitors. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Porter will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and public areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - The job description reflects management's assignments of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. • Gather and empty trash. • Service, clean, and supply restrooms. • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. • Clean tasting room after tastings, such as glassware and spit cups, using solvents, brushes and rags. • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
