SET TO BE EUTHANIZED 7/20! Why? Because they're struggling and stressed in their kennels at the shelter. Doesn't seem fair…right? Sadly, the shelter places GOOD adoptable dogs on E-list when they aren't doing well in their kennels. Can we help them live? Please read about them and call ). HANS (ID #A4739190) is a neutered, brown Doberman Pinscher/Mix (51lbs.). Hans was found wandering homeless and was very skinny. Hans is super friendly with everyone at shelter!. He loves pets and to play fetch and will "catch" in mid air! He brings back the ball and allows it to be taken. He walks well on-leash. He “sits” for treats and takes them gently. There is nothing wrong with this dog, but he is a wreck in the kennel and must get out! FYI, Hans was given a bath by a volunteer and did well. Hans hasn’t had a dog-to-dog assessment, but no reactivity around other dogs has been observed. Hans may be able to live with another dog but would need a SLOW introduction. It is recommended that a potential adopter understands what a stressed dog needs and that he meets the entire family. FRANKY (ID #A4739112) is a 2-year-old, neutered, tan and white American Pit Bull Terrier (56.3 lbs.) Volunteers say that Franky is a “super sweet boy and very affectionate" that can be a little timid/shy at first. He seems to be very friendly with other dogs. He walks calmly on-leash. When out in the play yard, Franky loves petting more than toys or treats. He will “sit” for treats and take them nicely. There is really nothing wrong with him except he is struggling in his kennel....Although Franky hasn’t had a dog-to-dog assessment, his behavior around other dogs at the shelter suggests that with SLOW introductions, he would be able to live with another dog in a home. That said, a SLOW introduction to the resident dog(s) is recommended. The shelter recommends that Franky meets the entire family, that he be given time to warm up because he is a tad bit shy, and that children in the home be older. PLEASE REMEMBER!! All these dogs have been living in a high-stress environment and will need time to de-stress and relax!! They will benefit from a predictable routine as well as ample exercise and time to play.
