Please apply here: Part time work at the SDF Airport. Starting pay is $18.50/hr. $20/hr after 90 days. There are 2 different sort types. The origin sort (morning) is from 3am-8/9am, and the destination sort (afternoon) is from 2pm-6/7pm. Origin (morning) sort entails: Unloading carts from trailers loaded with bags and boxes of mail. Sorting the mail out of the carts and grouping based on the destination. Scanning the sorted mail into ULDs (airplane shipping containers) and stacking the mail inside of the ULD to optimize the space. Pushing empty carts into designated empty cart zones. Destination (afternoon) sort entails: Pushing empty carts in front of full ULDs. Scanning the mail out of the ULDs and loading the mail into the carts. Pushing the loaded carts onto the correct trailers. Requirements: Must have lived in the United States for a minimum of 3 years. Must pass a 3 year FBI background check. Must consent to fingerprinting. Can lift up to 75 lbs. (Most packages are 5-25 lbs) Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
