INDIA DAY GALA - August 19, JW Marriott, downtown Grand Rapids. Our gala starts the two-day celebration of the culture and festivities of India and fundraiser for the Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Foundation. The festival culminates with India Day at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids. Bhagyashree Dassani is an Indian actress and social worker. She is known for her roles in Hindi language films and television. Bhagyashree had her breakthrough in the film Maine Pyar Kiya, for which she received critical acclaim, and it has since become her signature work. Abhimanyu Dassani is the son of actress Bhagyashree and Himalay, made his acting debut in 2018 with the action film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, for which he won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He has since starred in the Netflix romantic-comedy Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021).
