Happy to serve our Veterans and First Responders (HEROES) in Brevard County and the surrounding areas. Giving our HEROES a sense of purpose. We are here to help the Ocean Aid 360 organization (OA360), Heroes Helping to Clean Our Waters during the 2022 Ghost Trap Rodeo. We are a non-profit helping another non-profit. We are helping to clean our waters. Targeted species sought after are not fish but the things that can hurt them and their aquatic family. This event will be held at Marina Park boat ramp in Titusville, Florida. Parking is a premium, so get there early. Parking will be first come serve. Ocean Aid 360 is based out of St. Petersburg, FL but does work all over the state. More information about OA360 can be found at their website at https://www.oceanaid360.org. Event registration can be found at https://www.oceanaid360.org/event-registration Come join the festivities while we clean up the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). There will be food and prizes, and networking with other great organizations in our backyard. Separate registration action is required to use the HOW Kayaks and gear. Kayaks will only be available for those who register through our EventBrite as well. Please wear your HOW swag to promote our organization. HOW TO GET THERE: Event address: Marina Park 1005, 1510 Marian Road Titusville, FL 32976 Travel north or south on I-95 until you reach Exit 220 towards FL-406 E/Garden St. Travel east on FL-406 E/Garden St for 2.8 miles. At the intersection turn left onto S. Washington Ave. and travel 0.2 miles. Turn right on Marina Rd and travel for 0.3 miles. Follow the signs to the boat ramp area. Send any questions through Facebook Messenger or email at [email protected] RULES: HOW events are *** DRUG-FREE and ALCOHOL FREE *** HOW events are *** Family Friendly*** HEROES & guests are NOT allowed to be on/in a kayak(s) during the event without a designated HOW guide or required safety equipment. Everyone MUST wear your personal floatation device (PFD) the entire time while you are on/in the kayak. Food and drinks will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring your own snack/food/drinks if you have special needs/preferences. Bring a lawn chair or something to sit on since many of our locations are primitive and may not have a place to sit. As a precaution, we suggest you bring a dry set of clothing, since this is water related event, and we never know about the weather & tides. Since we can never tell the weather or the tides, the environment could change our event. Please be on time. If you are going to be late or decide not to attend the event, please message the Leadership Team via the Facebook Messenger. We want to ensure we provide a kayak to other who may be on a wait list. HOW’s mission is to help our HEROES to relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate into society through kayak fishing, spending time in the outdoors, networking and building comradeship with other HEROES.
