DUE TO A SCHEDULING CONFLICT, THE AUGUST TASTING WILL BE ON THE 4th THURSDAY (instead of the usual 3rd Thursday).AUG 25 "4th Thursday" Educational Wine Seminar - Whites of Summer Seats become available at 6:00pm on Friday, July 22. No cost for seats. If you are able, and would like to contribute to help defray the cost of the wines used in the seminar, there is a suggested donation of $30.00 per person. You can give that to us at the event, by cash or check (please make checks out to Fred Gold, who handles the administration for these events). Thank you to those who are able to help us continue to host these events! After 6:00pm on Fri 07/22/20, if you do not see any availability on this site, please click on the link and ask to be added to the waiting list. If there is no option for the waiting list, please let Fred know & he will add you to that list. The event will be Thursday, August 25, starting promptly at 7:30pm until approximately 10:00pm. This will be an OUTDOOR seminar, to take place on the deck overlooking the vineyard. Check the weather forecast...be prepared with a jacket or sweater in case it starts to get cool later in the evening! We will set up at the last minute, and we do have the option of moving inside if it looks like the weather will not be good enough for the outdoor setting. Doors open at 7:00pm. Seats will be pre-assigned, please let us know if there is someone with whom you would like to be seated, and we will do our best to accomodate you. The theme for August will be "Whites of Summer." We will feature wines from around the world, probably including dry Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, great blends, Albarino, maybe Gewurztraminer...and probably more...finishing (of course) with sweet Riesling There will be several flights of wines which we will learn about and discuss. No food will be served (except for bread, to clear your palate), so plan on having dinner before your arrival. Wine events should always be a FRAGRANCE FREE ZONE. We request that attendees refrain from wearing strong perfumes/cologne/scents, as this interferes with the ability of your tablemates to properly appreciate the aromas of the wine. Please, maximum of two seats per sign-up on this site. If you have friends you know will be attending, & want to sit with them, please let Fred know so he can arrange that. Conversely (just kidding), if there is someone with whom you do NOT want to sit, Fred doesn't want to know (but he will accomodate you anyway). Bring 4 wine glasses. This seminar will be held at the home of Drs. Peter Adesman & Robin Miller, below the house on the deck, overlooking the vineyard.
