Loving older senior dog Chi-Weenie--Free to good home

Meet Tiki--she's estimated to be between 12-15 yrs old, but has TONS of energy. She is about 15ish lbs, great with cats and very polite with other polite dogs. She's very well crate trained, and good with potty pads indoors, outdoors she's constantly marking and exploring. She is part chihuahua, so she can be a quivering nervous wreck when she gets scared. She knows some commands and has done lots of training, but she's too independent for much of the work we've done to stick. She is VERY food motivated, so that helps, but her off-leash recall has never really improved. She's ok on-leash during walks, but can get frightened by big trucks or passing construction. She's always been ok at the vet, but needs a muzzle for nail trims. She's really great about getting baths though. She LOVES seniors! She hates babies and young children, tolerates older children, accepts adults, and gets really, really excited to interact with seniors (especially older men). She would be a great companion for an older couple or individual that might want a small, loving dog, but not a rambunctious puppy. She's in pretty great health even though she's older, and her teeth are in really good condition. We joke that she's an immortal chi-weenie because she's never sick and has never slowed down. She tends to eat like a raccoon though, and she'll devour anything in her path. Happy to arrange a meet-and-greet for anyone interested. We're moving and will be traveling abroad for a while, and also expecting a baby early next year, and we can't safely take Tiki with us. She needs stability and a secure place to call home for the rest of her years. She's a good little dog, we're sure she'd make a great addition to your family!
