Are just mutts! Mongrels, mixed breeds. “Designer breed” was made up by puppy mills and back yard breeders to rip off buyers. Not that they are bad dogs they can be fine dogs ( but they can also be sickly) But charging 2k 3k 4K etc. for a mixed breed is ridiculous. You can go to a responsible purebred breeder and get exactly what you need. A Doodle for instance. You have a 50/50 chance of getting a heavy shedder like the Lab, Golden or Aussie it was mixed with. Get a Standard Poodle and you will have a large athletic dog that 100% will not shed Need a guard dog but don’t want the shedding? Get an Airedale. Need a small dog but want it to be sturdy enough to play with kids? Skip the Chiweenie and buy Schnauzer, Cocker Spaniel or Cairn Terrier. Oops you don’t want shedding? Schnauzer or Miniature Poodle ( not toy) So many options to get exactly what you need. If you are going to pay a high price you may as well get a breed tailored to your needs. Nothing wrong with mix breeds especially if you are not picky in your needs and just love dogs. But paying thousands for a mix breed is just robbery. Whoever you buy your dog from always make sure it is checked out by a vet and be able to call the Vet and make sure. Many people have bought pups off Craigslist who were sick and eventually died after the owner paid thousands to try to save it. Don’t purchase heartbreak.
