REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED Latino Outdoors Connecticut is partnering with Avalonia Land Conservacy to host a kayaking adventure on the Mystic River! This event is free and includes all kayak rentals, we required registration by August 7th to ensure we have everything needed. We will begin on-time at 9 a.m., unfortunately we cannot guarantee participation if you arrive late. Expect to be out of the water by 11 a.m. IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING: After registering, please look for a pop up and email from Eventbrite with the link to complete your waiver (this will be through SmartWaiver, not Latino Outdoors). During the week before the event, you will receive another email with more instructions on preparing for the event including attire, weather, and suggested parking. If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing [email protected] or texting 860-857-3886. Spots for this event are limited. Please provide the age of every participant when registering. About LO’s COVID-19 Guidelines 1. Currently Mystic, CT does not have a mask mandate. Leaders and participants will decide together whether or not to wear masks based on their own comfort. Please respect everyone's decision. 2. Anyone who feels sick or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 should stay home. In the case that someone begins displaying symptoms during an outing, they will be escorted back to their vehicle to go home and rest or separated from others until they can go home. As the pandemic evolves, so will our approach to keeping you safe. We thank you for your patience and flexibility as we manage this, and invite you to check in with us if you have any questions. We ask participants to self-certify that they do not have symptoms, have not been diagnosed with or had direct contact with a known or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days, and will comply with LO’s safety policies and procedures. Together, we can ensure safe, positive, and meaningful experiences in nature. What you can expect from LO LO leaders will be available to answer your questions and concerns regarding this event, we are so excited to go on this adventure with you! A professional instructor from Adventure Mystic will be joining us to help guide us as we learn and practice kayaking. Avalonia Land Conservancy has funded LO CT to host this event, all rentals and safety gear will be provided to you.
