The goal of our EIG SZN Camp is to create an interest in the game of basketball and help give students who don’t have the opportunities to explore their skills and develop through hands-on experiences with local basketball coaches and Saul White Jr. an 11 year Harlem Globe Trotter and professional athlete. Students will be exposed to an array of professions in basketball, including ones they may not have even known were options as well as step by step stations and guidance of the college experience and what to expect as they grow and develop. The Camp will also be an opportunity to let students learn basketball fundamentals but also focus on their potential for making a career from the game of basketball and what options they have once they graduate high school/higher education. We will also explain the college recruiting process, focus on physical and mental fitness. Participants will receive free tee shirts with the purchase of a ticket, lunch will be provided, and an option to receive a free haircut and much more. By hosting and coordinating an EIG SZN Fundamentals Basketball Camp, local AAU, Jr high, high schools and college entities will have the opportunity to develop relationships with the students that are the future of the sport. It also enhances the entities’ community involvement programs by supporting our area youth.
