Pediatricians are at the front line of children’s health and behavior. During well visits, parents seek guidance from their pediatrician, especially when children are struggling with behavior, headaches, learning difficulties or concerning eye movements.
Just like well visits, comprehensive vision exams can determine if vision is developing properly, contributing to behavior or a dysfunction is present.
Did You Know?
•1 in 4 children has a learning-related vision impairment affecting their near vision, even if they see 20/20 far away and pass a standard vision screening.
•Developmental vision problems can interfere with a child's ability to read, learn, comprehend, and even pay attention.
These children can continually struggle with vision issues while reading, including headaches, eyestrain, visual fatigue, double and blurry vision and tracking inaccurately across the page while reading. For the children that are dealing with ADHD and dyslexia, a vision dysfunction can greatly complicate overcoming these learning struggles.
