Description

Redmond STEM Center (RSC), is a nonprofit teen-oriented makerspace that functions as a hub for students to work, learn, and interact with each other to build on their STEM knowledge and experience. RSC focuses on educating teenagers on a variety of STEM career paths, particularly software design, mechanical and electrical engineering, statistics, and mathematics, as well as working to close the gap for underrepresented minorities in STEM careers. Featuring workshop equipment such as 3D printers, bench power tools, and other industry-grade machines, RSC aims to foster a collaborative environment in which those from different backgrounds are brought together and are able to learn from experienced mentors. Currently, RSC's team has gathered enough money from sponsorships and donations to open a physical space, but we are still seeking mentors that can assist us in keeping RSC open. We need adults experienced in the STEM industry that are as passionate as the students who will be working on their projects at RSC. If you are interested in mentoring at RSC, please email us for more information! We are excited to work with you! -The RSC Team
