Description: Douglas Island Pink and Chum, Inc. (DIPAC) is now accepting applications for seasonal Fish Technician positions at both Macaulay and Snettisham Hatcheries. The seasonal technician position is an entry-level labor position in which incumbents will assist permanent staff in a variety of fish culture duties. Projects include but are not limited to: feeding fish, cleaning rearing containers, assisting in gamete collection, maintaining incubators, and harvesting adult Salmon. Requirements: Persons must be physically fit and able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds and carry it up to 100 feet repeatedly and be able to work in exposed conditions often in inclement weather, as well as, being willing to work in conditions that are often cold and dark. Benefit of Being a DIPAC Employee: - Use of company paid, fully furnished bunkhouse for non-Juneau residents to reside in through the duration of employment.
