Very cute, very friendly stray cat found roaming the nearby woods near property. No one has claimed him, no microchip, unaltered male, vet thinks 1-2 years old. White with green eyes, 9 lbs (underweight). Good news = he did great at the vet (we went on 7/15), not bothered by the staff/drawing blood, people, cats, neutral with dogs, loves kids, seems content living indoors. He is FeLV negative, fecal was clean, no ear mites, but definitely had an upper respiratory and ear infection. (on antibiotics and frontline now). * he is FIV +. I would love to adopt every animal I come across, but my cat is aggressive toward other cats and FIV negative. The risk for deep bites and fights are real in our house, so I need help rehoming him as soon as possible. I am concerned I won’t be able to find him a good home having FIV, and being unaltered without vaccines. His personality and appearance are so wonderful, I am just sure someone would give him a great home! If you are interested in in adopting him, he must go to an indoor only home. He can be the only cat or with other FIV + kitties. If you feel comfortable, a lot of FIV + cats who are friendly like him can co-habitat with other friendly cats just fine. Most research now shows the virus is not spread through friendly interaction, but through severe puncture/attack wounds that draw blood. *** Instead of an adoption fee, I am requesting that you cover his vaccinations and neuter. To prove this I will verify with the veterinarian of your choice that these fees are paid for in full prior to the adoption.***
