Description
The Assistant Equipment Manager, under supervision of the Green Superintendent and Equipment Manager assists in the repair and maintenance of golf course maintenance equipment fleet as well as grounds maintenance tasks. The Assistant Equipment Manager performs a variety of mechanical repairs and maintenance; works independently; services motorized equipment, grinds mowers and related work as assigned by their supervisor(s).
Work Performed:
· Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in utility vehicles, mowers and other mechanical equipment.
· Keeps all mowing equipment operable and properly sharpened.
· Disassembles small engines and performs general overhaul; lubricates and services equipment.
· Maintains shop working area in compliance with all appropriate safety regulations.
· Works with the Equipment Manager and Golf Maintenance Crew in training and safety of equipment.
· Performs basic maintenance tasks on the golf course as needed.
· Communicates effectively verbally and in writing in English.
Minimum Requirements for Position:
· Working knowledge of fluid hydraulics, automotive electronics, gas and arc welding, fabrication of specialty tools, gas and diesel engines.
· Ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
· Knowledge of reel/bed knife grinding and maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
· Required to work irregular and extended hours including early hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
· Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, walk, bend, stand upright and maneuver heavy equipment for most of the work shift.
