We are: -A female singer-songwriter who plays rhythm/lead guitar, writes classic Soul and soul-influenced Americana material, and is one of the artists on Blackbird Record Label -A drummer/percussionist who sings backing vocals -A bassist who sings backing vocals We knew our lead guitarist/backing vocalist was set on becoming a for-hire guitarist in multiple cover bands, and now it’s time to find his replacement. You must have links to audio and video clips of your playing. You must be very rooted in classic soul, rhythm and blues and gospel, be very song-focused, think like an arranger, and play tasteful solos with great tone, space and dynamics. You MUST have backing vocal ability. Reliability, quick communicator, reliable gear/transport and living in Chicago goes without saying. You MUST listen to our songs before responding and tell us how you’d fit in with these songs. The lead singer and drummer recently moved here from LA. As a full band, we recently played the debut show at Midsommarfest in Andersonville, and future shows include Skokie Backlot Bash, Chicago Live at Navy Pier, and more. Preferably no jobbers. Focus is on original music, although we do feature some soul covers in our set. Pay for shows is split equally. Rehearsals are in Skokie in our 24/7 space.
