Established in 1971, BOSS is a nonprofit organization that housing and support services to homeless, disabled, formerly incarcerated, and low income community members across Alameda County. The organization opened its first programs in Hayward in 1989.
Ursula Sherman Village (USV) provides shelter, counseling, meals, and life-saving assistance to homeless single adults and families with children, located in West Berkeley. There are gardens and raised beds in the courtyard that are in need of TLC!
If you can bring your own gardening tools, that would be great - we do have some, but not sure if there'll be enough for everyone. Dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty! :)
