The Capital Crossroads and Discovery Special Improvement Districts (SIDs) in conjunction with the Downtown Residents’ Association (DRAC) is holding its second National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 2 at The Goat on 219 S. High St. From 4 to 7 p.m. National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. It occurs annually on the first Tuesday in August. The event is meant to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Last year, the downtown event brought together more than 100 downtown residents and stakeholders as well as members of local law enforcement agencies for interpersonal discussions on safety downtown. Complimentary beverages and snacks will be available for attendees. Registration is highly recommended.
