Description
A new program is coming to The Century. Our “At Cost” program is designed to not only allow us to bring more limited, high-dollar bottles into the state, but also to get them into your hands without breaking the bank. We understand that while everyone dreams of trying that hard to get bottle of whiskey, one bottle split 23 ways goes much further. The conversation about what you’ve tried is so much more important than what you have on your shelves unopened. Allowing us to get more “unattainable” bottles into Dayton. Here’s how it works: *Each bottle will be split into 23, (1) ounce pours to be opened on a day of Joe’s choosing. At cost means that you are paying what we were charged by the state per ounce. No more, no less. *Each ticket will reserve your ounce pour, as well as an hour slot at Joe’s bar for that day. On the day of the event, come have a conversation and learn about what you’re trying. *Once you purchase your ticket, you will receive an email allowing you to select your time slot for the day. This event will be taking place Saturday July 30th between 5-8pm. Time slots are based on the order that tickets are sold. Only 7-10 people will be sitting at the little bar in each hour slot. Release info on At Cost No. 1: LAGAVULIN 26YR - THE LION'S JEWEL A RARE AND TREASURED SCOTCH SMOULDERING INTENSITY AND ALLURING SPICE As our fable goes, hidden within his den on Islay bay, The King of Islay guarded a gem of precious worth. The resplendent stone glowed ruby red, glistening with lustre. Won through decades of fire and ferocity, it reflected an alluring warmth and smoldering intensity - the captivating nature at the very heart of Lagavulin. A deep-hued and regal malt, its dark, wine-woody aromas are pungent with peaty smoke, curled around baked figs. In the smooth, oily start a sweetness gleams, then salt and pepper season a savoury, smoke-wreathed intensity. These rich first fill Pedro Ximenez/Oloroso seasoned casks look back on vivid youth through the wise, battle-hardened prism of age, finishing long, sweet and sumptuous. At long last, a jewel is ready to share. At 26-years, the Angels have already had their fair share, bottled at 44.2% ABV These bottles will go fast, but that’s how we get more bottles!
