The first amendment protects "peaceful assembly" it does NOT protect mostly peaceful protests ( FASCIST* for riots!), what is notable, is that the RIOTS took place in FASCIST* controlled cities, the reason is simple, in Republican controlled cities the police would have shut that nonsense down ASAP !
