Enjoy a safe ride on Dunning streets that are comfortable for cyclists. We're highlighting routes that connect popular places in Dunning and we’re holding a party afterward! This second annual bike ride is coming to Dunning. Ride the Tour Da Dunning from 10 a.m to 1 p.m., Saturday. Aug. 6, on safe, bike-friendly streets.We will meet on the west side of Shabbona Park (at Cornelia and Sayre) at 10 a.m. for a ceremonial start to the 10-mile ride. Riders will be taken on streets that are safe and comfortable for everyday riding. Ride marshalls will assist with crossing at main streets. The ride will start and end at Shabbona Park, cruising along side streets that are just a block away from fantastic Dunning businesses. The ride will also make a stop at the Read Dunning Memorial Park, which is dedicated to the 38,000 souls who were buried in the area's "potter's fields". You can bring your own bike, and Divvy will also be providing bikes at the event, including its electric-powered bikes. The after-ride party will feature booths from local businesses and vendors. In addition, Eli’s Cheesecake will be providing refreshments. Everyone who registers on Eventbrite receives a gift bag while supplies last. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. One Divvy rider came all the way from Lakeview last year and came across our event. This map shows route and how close it is to businesses along busy streets.
