Forest Bathing is about being present and connecting on a deeper level in nature. The word 'Bathing' is more like a metaphor in this sense, in that we soak in, take in, the natural environment.
And, if you are like me, it's often hard to disconnect from the everyday chaos and stress. So, take a moment for yourself, and come out and connect with nature, you will gain quick and easy tools to reconnect to yourself and to the little things around you. With the added benefit of calming the mind and decompressing.
During the introduction, we will be guided and given tools to ground and center our body and come into a place of presence and start tapping into our senses.
We will then walk 20 minutes into the preserve, the path is flat and super easy paced. As we walk we will connect with our senses and deeper to the surroundings.
We will then be guided to individually find a place to sit, near a tree or slow walking in nature, and will spend 15 minutes to notice, to slow down, to connect deeper with ourselves and nature, taking in the aroma of the trees, enjoying the bird songs, chirping of cicadas, or dragonflies dancing through the air...
After our individual time, we will come back together and share our experiences.
I'm hoping with starting at 8am that we will still have some 'cooler' temps, not the full on heat of the day, and hopefully to feel a little comfortable outside.
What to bring: wear comfortable clothing. A towel or blanket to use to sit on, if you like. A hat is recommended for any sunny areas, and definitely bring water, with these high temps it will be refreshing to have.
Where to meet: we will meet in the parking lot to Trinity River Greenbelt Goat Island Preserve. And note the entrance to the parking lot is right next to the entrance to Concrete Crushing.
