The Iowa World Language Association is excited to welcome teachers of all languages to our first in person conference since 2019.
The 2022 conference is ready to welcome and support All Languages for All Students. This means any teacher of an additional language are encourage to come and grow professionally and personally. World language, ELL/ESL, Native Language, and Dual Language/Immersion program teachers are invited to present and attend. This conference is intended to help teachers grow their knowledge of language acquisition, inspire creativity, and bring high-quality additional language instruction to all Iowa's students.
The 2022 keynote speaker is Florencia Henshaw, Ph. D. She was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she is now the Director of Advanced Spanish. She is passionate about helping students develop communicative ability in the target language, as she is about helping teachers make the connection between what we know and what we do.
We are also excited to offer discounts for early bird registration, presenters, pre-service teachers, retired teachers, and BIPOC teachers.
