The Louisiana Purchase: What Exactly Did We Purchase? In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson entered into an agreement with France to purchase the 'imperial rights' of the territory that France had laid claim to in 1682. What 'rights' did we pay $15 million for? The answer: the right to remove by conquest or violence (even death, if necessary) all Indians from the territory. This agreement was done in violation of the U.S. Constitution. Pres. Jefferson did not have the authority to make a purchase without the approval of Congress. Pres. Jefferson knew this but chose to do it anyway. This is covenant breaking! The word of God has strong things to say about covenant breaking. There are consequences. Could it be that we are reaping the results of this even today? Of course! We will be gathering in St. Charles, MO to address this broken covenant. We will repent on behalf of the United States and decree justice for the First Nations People. We will lock our faith together and believe for an outpouring of an awakening.
