Join the Historical African Martial Arts Association as we celebrate our first in person Gathering event since the beginning of the pandemic. The weekend begins on August 26th at 7 pm with our annual feast and ceremony, where we will celebrate with foods from all over the continent in traditional wear and engage in ceremonial sparring. On the 27th, there will be a full day of classes and seminars, where attendees can learn the various martial traditions of Africa and its diaspora, along with lectures, and an opportunity for open sparring. On the 28th, HAMAA will host its annual Tournament of Champions, where martial artists will have the opportunity to pit their skills against one another in a contest for the title of Champion.
