Bichir tank breakdown

Description

Sadly, I must break down my predator/bichir tank. They’re low maintenance and have been a joy to keep for the last six or so years. It's a shame, but would love to see them go to a good home with plenty of swimming space. All these fish have been living with me for at least 4 years and are well established and acclimated to unfiltered DC tap water with Seachem Prime conditioner. They are all healthy and hardy. All the fish eat Hikari massivore or sinking carnivore pellets, except for the tire track eel, which insists on fresh fish like tilapia or bloodworms. The sizes are approximations. They are currently in a 100-gallon tank. Most would be fine in a 75-gallon tank with large water changes, but they will grow an eventually require somewhere around 120 gallons. They get along well. Only the tire track eel has been observed nipping fins on occasion. Adoption fees are lower than sale prices and are there to make sure they go to a good home. They are non negotiable. I would accept $200 for the lot of them. I also have a copy of Joshua Pickett’s new ‘Bichir Handbook,’ which I’ll throw in for free. -Senegal Bichir – 6” $20 (Live Aquaria) -Cross River/Teugelsi Bichir - 14” $80 (Live Aquaria) -Ornate Bichir - 8” $40 (Live Aquaria) -Palmas (Gold Dust) Bichir - 7” $40 (Live Aquaria) -Retropinnis Bichir – 6” $40 (Live Aquaria) Pink Tail Chalceus -7” $20 (Local adoption, provenance unknown) Lapradei Bichir – 6” $20 This one a pectoral fin and some dorsal ray fins (photographed). It unfortunately arrived this way from LiveAquaria about 4 years ago but is otherwise healthy. It’s also the only fish in the tank that will do a death roll to tear up fresh fish pieces) Tire Track Eel -12” $20 (Live Aquaria)
