Description
LUCY is looking for her forever home. She is probably a purebred Redbone Coonhound.Vet guesses she is about 8-10 months old. She is only 31 pounds 19 inches tall. She won't get any bigger. Does not shed much. Lucy has had rough. She was found on the street and must have been hit by a car as she a fractured back leg. A specialist to see what can be done about the old fracture. May decide to leave as it, amputate, or try and fix it. The cost of this will be covered by Arizona Basset Hound Rescue and Lucy’s “Angels". Lucy gets along with dogs. Some do not appreciate her hound howling some could care less so a meet greet is recommended with your dog. She may do fine with a young small to medium sized dog. No large dogs due to her leg limitations. She would be fine as an only dog as well as long she gets to go on walks, has toys to play with and has a lap to sit on She loves all people - young and old. She really seems to LOVE men. She chases cats so no cats. She has separation anxiety. Her forever family will need to be patient with her and put up with some typical hound baying went left alone or when in her crate. This should improve each week as she becomes more secure in her home. She was just started on medication that has helped. She knows how to use a doggy door or tell you when she needs to go out. She LOVES to cuddle up next to you when you are watching TV and she is a great bed partner.
She has not let that break her spirit and she LOVES life and cannot wait to find her forever family. She is one sweet gal!
Lucy is with Arizona Basset Hound Rescue and her adoption fee would normally be $500 but she has "angel sponsors" who have donated towards her adoption fee. Her adoption is $250. She is spayed, microchipped and is fully vaccinated.
