Our ideal caregiver loves working with kids, is patient with special needs children, enjoys creating activities, and is always willing to learn more about how best to care for a special child. Must feel comfortable learning about a child with varying medical needs including timing seizures. Don't worry, you don't have to be an expert in that stuff right away, we weren't either when we started with her.
L is non-ambulatory and non-communicative currently. She has global physical and mental delays. She likes books, "walking" with much assistance, outside, walks, dogs, music, and the TV show Bluey.
We do have care hours from the state so you have to open to completing paid training from CDWA. We have four dogs (which are not your responsibility!) but are around. We like hiking, biking, and playing at the park. Getting a reliable care giver for L will help us organize our lives, keep our jobs, and maybe just maybe get a project done around the house.
Hours are fairly flexible. We are hoping to find someone that would want to work a regular schedule M-F (maybe like 3-6? Could be different) for about 15 to 20 hrs a week. We are also looking for someone who occasionally wants to work a longer 6 or 8 hour day on a weekday or weekend. Maybe you are interested in both these or just one. Either is OK.
Let us know if you'd like to chat about working with a pretty cool 2 yr old.
