Steel Fabrication company in South Seattle seeks a hardworking and dependable entry level shop trainee. Applicant will begin training in our parts department but will have the opportunity to rise to a fitter/welder position if they show mastery of layout and steel-manufacturing related skills. Applicant should have basic measuring and layout capabilities. Prior carpentry or steel work experience is non-essential but a plus. Candidate will learn steel fabrication skills such as welding, plasma cutting, bending, and oxyacetylene cutting. Will also learn how to operate and maintain steel shop machinery (Ironworkers, bandsaws, mag drills, etc.). Applicant must be eager to learn and take direction. Once trained he or she must be able to operate under minimal supervision. Organization and ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment is crucial. The position can be physically demanding and may require heavy lifting. Must always adhere to company safety policies. This is a full time day shift position, M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm, with overtime at time and half pay. Compensation review after 90 day period. Must be US work eligible and Drug Free.
