OP/ I agree that an unborn child fetus is a "life". But is none of our government's business. Abortion is a personal decision between a human and god. There is no provision in the constitution that says our government has any right to tell us what to do with out bodies. I am pro life AND pro choice. There IS language in our constitution that calls for a separation between religion and state. Anti abortion laws violate this constitutional right for freedom of religion. Conservatives do not trust our government when it comes to socialized medicine, but they suddenly trust our government when it comes to women reproductive rights? Republicans seem to pick and choose which laws apply to them as convenient. P.S. the Bible clearly says that sex/intercourse between a man and a woman should not occur except for the sole purpose of procreation. The churches preach against contraception and abortion simultaneously. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life Liberty and pursuit of Happiness. If it is a life it has rights and the government is obligated to protect it. That is the main purpose of the US government to protect the citizens. You can not inject heroin into your body. It is illegal. First it is a life and then it is her body? It is not her liver. It is a human being. Separation of church and state is not in there. It says the government can not establish a religion. Just cuz religious people are pro life does not make it a religious issue. Conservatives do not trust the government? You do? After two years of covid and them violating every one of your rights and trying to take them away? The ENTIRE purpose of the US constitution and the bill of rights is for the government to protect those rights not limit them. It is to protect US from a tyrannical government that uses its power to limit our rights. That is why it says they are GOD given rights and not given by man so man can not take them away. They did not take away your right. The gave it to the states where the people can decide what they want. Conservatives want the people to decide and the left wants the government to tell you what your rights are.
