This is a two day workshop, due to the nature of the process.Linda Otey has been creating and perfecting her barn quilts for many years. She has displayed them at local arts and crafts fairs, farmer's markets and the Virginia Tourism booth at the Hillsville Flea Market building. She is a local Wythe County resident and artisan. A barn quilt is a large plywood board painted with a block print similar to fabric quilts made throughout history. These large quilt squares are typically displayed on barns throughout the United States and Canada.  You will be provided with a 2ft x 2ft birch plywood board and a choice of paint colors and materials for this project. This is a two day workshop, due to the nature of the process.We will be meeting on Saturday, September 24, 9:30am to 12:30pm and Sunday September 25, 1pm to 4pm All materials are included. Participants will leave with their very own barn quilt.
