Gallery hours: Monday - Saturday, 11am - 4pm Thursdays - extended drop in hours until 7pm, no reservation required Conceived by artist Mary Fagot, F L O W ! is an invitation to discover the magical nature of the physical environment around us. Over the summer, a series of three interconnected installations will fill the OXY ARTS space. Each installation explores a unique scientific principle essential to our day-to-day lives but that we often don’t think about — Fluids, Light, and Optics. Geared towards youth ages 5-12, but captivating for all ages, the installations offer an encounter with fundamental principles of physics through interactive art experiences, inspiring a sense of wonder and curiosity along the way. F L O W ! reverse engineers the learning process. The installations are an invitation to be immersed in the wonder of our physical world, and then grapple with the “how” and “why” behind the experience. After exploring the installation, visitors enter a gallery space where hands-on models and interactive activities provide scientific context. A series of free, interactive workshops accompany each installation cycle. You’re encouraged to visit all three installations throughout the Summer! Children must be supervised by an adult at all times during your visit.
