Tango Society of Minnesota presents the Charles Gorczynski Tango Quartet! as part of Northrop Auditorium summer concert series Amplifying Solidarity. And we're making it a mini-milonga, with as many local tango lovers as we can muster. So come out and enjoy the magic of Argentine Tango in the Heartland. It's going to be amaZing! With a capital Z! The Charles Gorczynski Tango Quartet is a new ensemble dedicated to Argentine tango music. The Minneapolis ensemble plays the music of Osvaldo Pugliese, Alfredo Gobbi, Juan D’Arienzo, Carlos Di Sarli, Anibal Troilo, and other legendary orchestras that defined the style. The quartet performs live for milongas (tango dance events), concerts, workshops, and private events. Bandoneonist Charles Gorczynski is known for creative tango projects, leading the contemporary group Redwood Tango Ensemble and spearheading the community-based Twin Cities Tango Collective. He has collaborated, recorded, and toured with many international tango projects, including Mariano Barreiro Tango Trio, Tango BC Quartet, Alejandro Ziegler Cuarteto, Maxi Larrea Trio, Maldito Tango, and Sascha Jacobsen’s Los Tangueros Del Oeste. In addition to Gorczynski, the ensemble comprises Devan Moran on Violin, Brian De Young on Piano, and Sarah Lahasky on Contrabass.
