PETER ABATIELLO CELEBRATION OF LIFE: WHERE: West Orange High School, Football Stadium, 1625 S. Beulah Road, Winter Garden, Florida 34711 (indoor, air-conditioned seating in cafeteria will be available for disabled, elderly, or infirm) WHEN: Friday, July 22, 2022. Gates open at 830am, Celebration of Life service begins promptly at 9am. DRESS CODE COLORS: If you attended or worked at West Orange High School, please wear blue and orange. If you attended Florida State University, please wear garnet and gold. If you attended Plantation High School, Mr. Abatiello's alma mater, please wear purple and gold. If you knew Mr. Abatiello as a golfer, please wear golf attire. But by all means, please dress with your class colors as comfortably as possible, as we recognize how hot it will be outside, which is why we have shortened the program as much as possible, to get people inside to the air conditioned cafeteria. PARKING: Parking will be available at the grassy field on the corner of Beulah Road and Warrior Road. There will be volunteers to assist you with parking and where to find your seats within the stadium. It is a very short walk from the parking area to the stadium seating. DONATION REQUESTS: SCHOOL SUPPLIES: If you were affiliated with West Orange High School as a student or a teacher, please consider donating new school supplies. These supplies will be divvied up and given to local Winter Garden elementary schools. There will be a designated area for you to drop off any supplies you feel so moved to do so. GOLF SUPPLIES: If you were affiliated with Mr. Abatiello through golf, please consider donating new golf items for disadvantaged youth golfers, from balls to towels to shoes to clubs. As you enter the stadium, please place these items around the dais where the microphones and chairs will be for the speakers. All of these items will be donated to disadvantaged youth golf organizations in Orange County, Florida. SOCCER CLEATS: Anyone who knew Peter Abatiello knew that his heart belonged to his students and his athletes, and his favorite sport unquestionably was soccer. If you were affiliated with Coach Abatiello as a soccer athlete, parent, opposing coach...and if you are so moved, please consider purchasing a new set of cleats, male/female, Walmart/Nike, size irrelevant, so that any child will not be turned away from a sport they desperately wanted to play because their parents could not afford the cleats. As you enter the stadium, please place these items around the dais where the microphones and chairs will be for the speakers. RECEPTION: Upon completion of the Memorial Service at the stadium, guests will be directed to the indoor, air-conditioned cafeteria for fellowship and remembrance. At 11:30, all guests will be asked to disburse from the property as other school activities will be taking place at that time.
