Description
I read the other day that our children, because of the un-necessary lockdowns, are two years behind in speech, mental development, as well as reading, writing, math. Experts say when the governments halted in person schooling, restricted activities and ordered families to stay home our kids have suffered. The study also said that our kids spent so much time on cell phones, video games and television with very little interaction with others including their parents, because the parents had their heads on the cell phone, computers, video games etc.
What has happened to us? We are not living our own life, we are living through our phones and social media.
I was thinking about the world we used to live in, when we did not use cell phones for other than emergencies, that all of our attention was on our children, that our children knew they had all of our attention and love.
Our kids are suffering, especially here in California where we were pre Covid at the bottom of the educational stats, so now we add on two more years of being behind.
Maybe we should get back to being parents like our parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Believe in God, Family and our beautiful country. None of us can continue on the path we currently are on, it takes each and every person to change and make a difference. If we do this, maybe we can save our children's future.
