I specialize in multisensory math and the Barton Reading and Spelling system for students with dyscalculia, dyslexia and other learning disabilities. All sessions are held over Zoom. Students learn through hands on manipulatives to develop strong conceptual understanding through concrete and representational instruction to understand the ‘why’ behind the procedure at the abstract level. Having completed two Making Math Real courses, I utilize Making Math Real 9 Lines based strategies and methods for the multiplication facts. I have also completed a Multisensory Math 1 course from ASDEC (Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Education Center) with Marilyn Zecher and use many of her multisensory methods. We can work on number sense, multiplication and division, fractions, percents, and long division to fill in gaps that children have no matter what the age. I focus on students with dyscalculia, dyslexia and other learning difficulties. I also tutor students with dyslexia or who are suspected to have dyslexia using the Barton Reading and Spelling System.
