What are they ranting about now? What sign language got to do with landscape installation? We’re not sure just yet but we know this much… It would appear most people responding to our post clearly have visual deficits significant enough to not be able to see, I.e., read our post. It also appears that their auditory deficits are equal to if not greater than the visual. It’s heartbreaking to think that’s so many people suffer in silence. Maybe these poor individuals have felt ashamed or felt if they said something that they would be less likely selected or chosen for Work. Though, beyond a nod of the head or The universal hand signal of pointing or waving and everyone knows the one finger Response. Admittedly, we know little of the workings of American Sign Language. We’ve always been proud of our equal opportunity work place status. We’re a little ashamed that we failed to see, no pun intended, the signs of what is clearly An epidemic. At least in our state. What appeared to be an understanding Of call if you’re going to be late or if you can’t make it at all, by a nod of ones head up and down apparently, were told, Is what people with language barriers and hearing and visual impairments will do to remain engaged in a conversation To conceal the fact that they are NOT hearing or seeing or understanding a n y t h I n g thats being said. In our defense, because we do feel we have a reasonable amount of common sense, we assume that Because an individual drove themselves and did not walk into every wall That they posses some degree of visual aptitude. Further, We by no means, claim to be ear specialist, we assume that there has to be some degree of auditory competency and (in our opinion) Intelligence because most will have laughed at something we said. It may only have been a pity laugh but nonetheless it was on cue leaving a reasonable person to gather that their hearing was At a functionable enough level to not warrant concern. We feel horrible and hope those reading this post and the countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless upon countless individuals who, we thought, We’re just poorly raised thugs In search of the weakest link (Like a predator on the African savanna in search of lunch targeting the young the old and the sick/ injured)possessing Little or no work ethic, Requiring more supervision than they’re worth(and the occasional pad down at the end of the day). Some less resistant than others to the procedure, Were simply good people who Innocently and with the best of intentions could not see with enough accuracy Our post. Others suffering in silence with debilitating Hearing loss and living in constant fear Of rejection that if they say something about their debilitating Condition that employers, friends, loved ones Will reject them. Communication is key. Whew… It’s good to know that what we thought Was a nation virtually in capable of competing In a 21st-century world Only needs a few hearing aid devices and a couple of pairs of glasses. Easy Peezy. Admittedly we feel a little like we jumped the gun, i.e., Selling everything we owned andour Mad rush to get a working knowledge of Mandarin(enough to ask, “could you give me directions to X work camp Please). Well. Now that that’s resolved we look forward to hearing and seeing you. Because we won’t respond to text only conversations. And won’t respond to non-405 area code phone numbers. We take great pride in thatwe’re very accommodating As far as scheduling etc. etc. but we draw the line at people arriving to work under the influence. This is a drug free vape free alcohol free work environment. If you are a phony(person who cannot set their phone down) Then please bless another post.May the games begin. 405-408-5089
