Sunday jam to find guitarist and bassist w/vox 4 Rock Band
Meets
Framingham MA
Description
Band starting out. Rock, alt rock, etc. Influences... among many - Bowie, Floyd, Prince, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Beck, Soul Coughing, Tommy Bolin, Funkadelic, James Brown, Led Zeppelin, Ween, The Band, Little Feat, Joe Walsh, etc. Female singer/guitar player (has played cello for many years, plays a little mandolin and bass too) - she's got an amazing voice and plays rhythm guitar really well. Drummer with several years of experience and understanding of music theory and competent at writing music and lyrics. Drummer has a recording arts degree and works with Pro Tools and Focusrite. Still a learning process with those though. Trained on analog... Looking for a versatile, experienced lead guitarist, as well as a funky bassist, both who can sing (possibly lead but certainly back ups to accompany her well) and who write original material. We will start with some covers and move on to originals - eventually playing both, but establishing ourselves as an original band for the most part. No real genre, if it sounds good it sounds good. If it is heavy that's okay. No death metal or anything, but hard rock, grunge, etc. are all good to go. Slow more mellow songs good too. Whatever sounds good... Looking to put something together for this Sunday afternoon-evening, July 17th - we will finalize the time. Please send a sample of your playing and singing for consideration. We practice at a home in the Metro West with full PA, mics and recording equipment and we record all practices. We would like to be ready to play out within approximately 2-3 months, even if just to play a back yard end of summer party at our practice space in Framingham. Looking for musicians who can commit to practices at least once per week and playing out approx. 12-15 times (or more per year). Looking for people who are motivated to play and come prepared and who are easy to get along with and flexible. We are easy-going, but take the band seriously... We want to go out and play and sound professional. Not necessarily bars, but private parties, outdoor festivals, etc. We are not in this for the money but believe that we should be compensated fairly for our time - but putting on a great, professional sounding show is our part of the bargain. We have auditioned a few players and are looking for top notch talent, so the band is not restricted in what it wants to do and where it wants to go. If you are a great guitarist or funky bassist with some vocals and eventually writing abilities to contribute and you want to be part of a band that is determined and motivated, contact us. Songs to learn for audition - if 5 are too many with such short notice, we can discuss removing one or two: 1. Son of a preacher man 2. The Weight 3. Sara Smile 4. Last Dance with Mary Jane 5. Moonage Daydream Thank you.
