Poetry on Tea Leaves is a workshop and open mic with the intention of bringing BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ community together to read local poetry, write, discuss, and perform our own prose. We are led by our co-hosts , local writers and performers, Ayjshane and Raphaella the Swan. We will start by reading, marinating on, and discussing work from a local central Texas poet. During the session we will write about what inspires us. Finally we will perform (if you would like) on stage either newly written work or work you want to perform. This is not a group for critique. The intention of this group is to allow a safe space for freedom of expression for black, brown, and queer folks and for those artists to develop and share their work while being inspired by the works of others. A herbal and caffeinated Tea will be served and shared at the Tea House.
